Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective communication skills.
Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. The present age is one of skill-development and innovations. The more mathematical we are in our approach, the more successful we will be. Mathematics offers rationality to our thoughts. It is a tool in our hands to make our life simpler and easier. Let us realize and appreciate the beauty of the subject and embrace it with all our heart. It is a talent which should be compulsorily honed by all in every walk of life.
Though Maths being important in all walk of lives, the hearing impaired students are not taught this as a subject post VII standard. This makes them logically underutilised. We in TEACH plan to encourage their logical thinking and creativity.
To achieve this, the Maths Learning Program is designed to cover basic maths taught in school and is still part of our day-to-day activity. This 3 year program covers concepts from introduction to numbers to BODMAS to complex word problems and logical solving; everything that is taught in regular school over a time period and essential in dealing with daily life. The topics we cover in MLP are all inter-related for the students to use in their daily life and help understand Basic accounts for their higher education.
